From the family of Barbi Ward–it is with great sadness that we share the news that Barbi has passed away ending her long battle with cancer. She spent her final day with her devoted husband Lionel doing all of her favorites:”bee-bopping” and “doo-doing to music”, swimming in the pool, hopping in the Jacuzzi, walking Lorenzo, and star-gazing with Lionel.
She went to sleep that night, and never again regained consciousness. As a family, we are grateful that these are her last memories. She passed peacefully with her loving family holding her hands and sending her love and peace.
Due to Covid 19, an immediate family memorial was held in June of 2020. We are aware how much Barbi would truly have hated that, as you all know how much she enjoyed a good party! We are planning a celebration of life that would meet her approval at a later time. Hopefully, in June 2021. We look forward to seeing all of you there.
Thank you all for being a part of Barbi’s life and for the outpouring of care and concern for all of us. We are touched by the number of you that have reached out to support our family and express your love and grief at Barbi’s passing. She was truly one of a kind and touched so many people’s lives.

We would like to thank everyone who has been a part of our National Breast Cancer Foundation Fundraiser Concert. We are now going into our 11th year. We have always done benefits for cancer and other organizations because we believe we are supposed to help one another and be grateful for the blessings we have received.
When Barbi was diagnosed with breast cancer, I found out that I knew nothing about cancer. Now I know more than I ever wanted to and have a special place in my heart for anyone going through this dreadful disease. Her chemo and radiation treatment was so intense that at times she could not walk. I was injecting her three times a day in her abdomen for nine months due to blood clots. When she was done with radiation, she was receiving treatment as a burn patient. The radiation depleted the calcium in her bones leading to two knee replacements.
Cancer had returned for Barbi in her bones, and now she is an Angel in Heaven. We will continue to raise money for Cancer in her name as this is what she would have wanted. We will also be having her Celebration of life at this time combining memories and the Concert. When it is all said and done, all we have is memories.
